Tattoos, or dermal pigmentation, are a mark made by inserting pigment into the skin for decorative or other reasons. Tattoos on humans are a type of decorative body modification, while tattoos on animals are most commonly used for identification or branding. I chose this tattoo because it looks so realistic. It’s amazing how a tattooist can mark the body in such a unique way. I may use these in future pieces, for example; heroes coming out of a human body.
Cosmetics (or make-up) are used in most women’s everyday life, but I want to focus on artistic make-up that is not seen every day. Such as the picture I’ve shown, which is labeled ‘nightmare’ by a make-up artist called Savina Calypso. The reason this photo attracted me is due to the horrific image it sends out. This piece is very realistic, and I am definitely going to try and use something like this in my future projects.
Jewellery (also spelled jewelry) is a personal ornament, such as a necklace, ring, or bracelet, made from gemstones, precious metals or other substances. The word jewellery is derived from the word jewel, which was anglicized from the Old French “jouel”. Jewellery is an additional part of the body to try and emphasize parts of the body and add an appeal to the human form. I chose this picture in particular because copper is not a large part of the jewellery industry, and not often used, but I find it quite beautiful. I may use copper in a jewellery piece which I may construct in the future.
